Walters Street Streetscape

0.365 Miles  |  San Antonio, TX  |  2012

This project links IH-35 and Fort Sam Houston with the original four lanes expanded to six. RVK’s design enhancements included street and pedestrian paving, public art, and pedestrian plazas. A shared-use path accommodates both pedestrians and cyclists. The preservation of trees as well as the use of plant materials softens the edges of the hardscape. The RVK design team worked local artist, Oscar Alvarado, who designed the colorful tile mosaics on the streetscape columns.
